Please note that in both solutions only the bride and groom will be seating,
all the other guests remaing standing during the ceremony. “An unspoilt
medieval villane on the eastern shore of lake Garda, Torri enjoys an ideal
location, a lakeside promenade and a delightful harbour”. Domenated
by the Castle of the Sacligeri, the th century governors of Verona, Torri
del Benaco is at the centre of the Riviera of the Olives. The little town
has a maze of narrow traffic-free streets with beautiful shops and boutiques
and delightful views on the lake. The harbour dates back to Roman times
and carvings on the rocks are proof on the farmer inhabitants. In the
evening the harbour is dominated by the foodlit castle. |

| The
ceremony take place in the main room inside the Town Hall embellished
by some old pictures on the wall and parquet on the floor. For very small
groups also on the top of the medieval tower. A very fascinating example of a little town, surrounded by medieval enclosing walls, Laize appears on the eastern bank of Garda, on the widest point of the lake, on the bottom of fruitful hills that form the moreinic gardesan amphitheatre. |

| It
is a very appreciated resort from
an urbanistc and monumental point of view, it has got an ancient central
core very goodly kept, with buildings which are historically and artistically
very interesting. It
was a pilework site, a roman pagus called Lasitium (from Latin word lacus,
lake), becoming, then, a free Common supplied with a great autonomy. From
the end of the XII cent. it was acquired by Scaligeri, passing then to
Visconti and Venetian until the National unification. The Scaligero Castle,
with battle walls, forms together with Porta Nuova the medieval fortifications.
The Custom or Harbour, is a good example of Venetian engineering and is
connected to an ancient portal system. The Romanesque di S. Nicolò
(XII cent.) church, with a bell tower which was rebuilt in the eighteenth
century, has on is side a picturesque and fascinating harbour where traditional
fishing boat are moored. An interesting fourteenth century fresco painting
cycle can be found within the Romanesque enclose.

Malcesine
(visit our web
gallery) The ceremony take place at the wonderful castle. There are two possible locations: an old and characteristic room located inside the castle with a wonderful view over Lake Garda; it is perfect for small weddings with 30 people. |

| The
second one is an open view with a white gazebo and it is fantastic for the
view over the caractheristic village and the Lake (weather permitting) and
good also for a big number of people. Publicity calls "testimonials" those famous persons that lend their image for the promotion of a product. Well then, Malcesine can boast a very prestigious one: the first to realise its great potential for tourism was in fact, Johann Wolfgang Goethe in 1786. One of the greatest names in European literature. Since then the hospitality of Malcesine and its quiet lake-shore hamlets of Cassone and Navene have gone a long way. For decades now they have been considered among the most notable of the Italian holiday resorts. More than a hundred hotels welcome the tourist. In the summer thousands of holidaymakers walk up and down the narrow medieval streets that lead to the Scaliger Castle, to sun-filled beaches, or along the lake promenade lined with shops, restaurants and ice-cream parlours, while sailboats and windsurfs dot the waters of the lake with colour. |
||||||||||||||||||
Full of contrasts Malcesine is particularly fascinating. There's Mediterranean flora found in the gardens filled with oleanders and in the immense olive groves from which a delicate olive oil is obtained. Further up, instead, the landscape becomes alpine. To pass in a few minutes from olive trees to the highest peaks of Mount Baldo enjoying the fantastic panoramic view of the lake, is a unique and unrepeatable experience that can easily be attained with the cable car that runs from Malcesine to Tratto Spino. This facility is also used by those who would like to hike or mountain bike back down the valley, as well as for those who want to go up in the winter, to enjoy winter sports: there are excellent slopes for skiing, with the blue of the lake always in sight. Sport. Malcesine is a sailing and windsurfing paradise: the many clubs and schools assist champions and beginners alike. Other recent sports found in this region include mountain bike activities and parachuting off cliffs (from an equipped area). And there are infinite possibilities for hiking excursions on Mount Baldo, as well as skiing in the winter at Tratto Spino. Manifestations. The open-air theater at the foot of Malcesine's castle holds prestigious performances throughout the whole summer. In Cassone, the Cyclamen Festival held in August, features the traditional "bisse" race, long and narrow row boats typical of Lake Garda. To be seen. Near Malcesine's harbour is the "Palazzo dei Capitani" from the Venetian period. A splendid "Deposition" by Girolamo Dai Libri can be seen inside the Parochial Church, and the church of Cassone has been depicted by Klimt. Still in Cassone you will find the Aril, considered by many to be the shortest river in the world at only 175 meters long. The
castle of Malcesine is thought to have Longobard origins. It has since
been reconstructed by the Scaligers, and later modified by both Venetian
and Austrian military engineers. Today it houses an interesting museum
about the origins, history, and flora and fauna of Lake Garda. From the
top of the Castle's tower one may enjoy a magnificent view of the town. |

Valeggio
(visit our web
gallery) The ceremony take place in one antique room of the Town Hall decorated with some old mirrors and pictures and a balcon where you can admire a fantastic view over the mail place of Valeggio. |
||||||||||||||||||
Very near to Lake Garda, on the boundary between the Veneto and Lombard regions and at the cross-roads of the provinces of Verona and Mantua, is Valeggio sul Mincio. This town has integrated the best of the different traditions that surround it in for example, the gastronomy a bit Veneto and a bit Lombard, which attracts epicurean tourists. The forty restaurants of the area can seat six thousand people and during the week-end a horde of gourmands make appointments to meet here. After all, the eating tradition has strong roots in this area: news of the first inn dates from the 1300's. Valeggio however, is not only gastronomy. It is also nature, especially along the Mincio valley and the hilly region towards St. Lucia ai Monti, ideal places for walks or bicycle rides. Following the river you arrive to Salionze, where tradition says that Pope Leo Magna stopped Attila the Hun during his advance into Italy. Then you arrive to Borghetto, an enchanting medieval hamlet that originated on the ancient wading cross point of the river. Valeggio is also culture. Ancient lordships con-structed stately forti-fications such as the Scaliger Castle and the Visconteo dike-bridge that still today dominate the landscape. During the Venetian domination many elegant mansions were built such as Villa Maffei-Sigurtà, with its huge and spectacular garden park which can be visited, but only in motor vehicles. Near here important Napoleonic and Risorgimento battles were fought. The tourist offer has recently been enriched with water-parks and a small antiquarian-hobby market held every last Sunday of the month. Gastronomy. The most famous dish of Valeggio is the typical meat-filled 'tortellini', hand-made with very thin pasta served in broth or with melted butter and sage. Every year on the third Tuesday in June, a long table is set up on the Visconteo bridge to serve 'tortellini' to three thousand people. Other renowned dishes of Valeggio include risottos, home-made pasta, boiled meat and vegetables (served with a peppery gravy sauce call "pearà"), grilled meat, cold meats, game meats, as well as lake and river fish dishes. For dessert it is worth mentioning the delicious, locally produced peaches in syrup. Surroundings. Valeggio is only a few minutes away from the cities of Verona, Mantua and Brescia, and Lake Garda's shores. Along the Mincio River a natural park extends from Peschiera to southern Mantua. And not too far away in the province of Mantua, is the Castellaro Lagusello natural reserve. The Wines. The traditional cuisine of Valeggio combines perfectly with the excellent wines of the region: the Bardolino red wine and the Bianco di Custoza white wine. TOP BORGHETTO Situated on the green banks of the river Mincio, within the mild Mediterranean region of Lake Garda, between the fertile Po and Adige Valley, between the land of the noble families; Scaligeri and Gonzaga. Originating from the Bronze Age, when the population constructed the village on supports in the middle of the river. It was in this area of Valeggio that Pope Leone Magno was able to stop the invasion of Attila (452 AD). During the reign of the Scaligeri (1387 - 1404), and later with the Visconti, the Valeggio castle (sec. XIII - XIV) was the crux of the extraordinary defence built to stop the raid of the Gonzaga, rulers of Mantova. In the Napoleonic Campaigns (1796 - 1800) there were also two important victories against the Austrian at Valeggio and it was here that General Bonaparte resided in 1796. |
